So back to simcity 5 after a long break. Was initially going to try and make a comedy spoof fracking city video... All oilwells pollution water shortages earthquakes, sinkholes, a big lizard breathing flames stomping about in the filth... In the end thats exactly whati get ... More about that later. I join a game and almost instantly want to do my best for the other players on the world map. I dont want to f up even their virtual game world into a polluted mess so its out with comedy fracking hell city and in with super green high tech clean city. Once i get cities earning up to 20 million simoleons and working i lose interest. So anyway im building my city and plop down a intercity bus connection. I build twenty road tunnels and build my infrastructure. Guess what theres oil underneath the city ... ;D. So to start with its standard to use a wind farm then switch to coal power build up some wealth then invest in green renewables. I decide to do a deal with the devil and drill baby drill for oil. This leads to a refinery, to plastics to processors to tvs and computers and profits. It makes an absolute mess of the city pollution. I hit wall after wall all my budgets are messed up nothing is working! About to go bankrupt and game over. The other players are gifting me money to help me. I have to make another tourist city to bail me out i send over a million and recieve 300k. WTF is going on? Then the penny drops, its embezzlement! Little chunks here and there going missing. White collar crime. Now I cant afford to research detective and get a solid police going. To top it off my city is now so polluted it sets off the raging fire breathing lizard. So its over to tourist city and tourists are too fickle leaving me with 4 empty rock stadiums. I wanted to build disneyland but they wanted to charge me and additional 10 dollar for the dlc. GFY maxis / origin. Switch to casinos and cheap motels, strip joints, gangsters and a police state... Ridiculous amounts of police helicopters and detectives. Which i then send dragnet style over to my embezzlement locked city. Slowly I drag both cities out of the mire. To the point i can start thinking about a sustainable renewable future. Both are currently coal powered and a complete mess.See also. ...
